Data quality is good. Linework was created and is maintained from current aerial imagery.
Data is complete. Updates are made as needed with the current aerial imagery.
Attribute data is controlled by the Ventura County Sheriff and Ventura County Fire Departments. The accuracy of the attribute data for street names vary based on official name, street sign and common names. The address range data is not current in and around new subdivisions. Address could be delayed until the building permits are processed.

These data have varying levels of positional accuracy based on control from Recorded Maps and Survey controlled locations. Accuracy within populated areas south of the Las Padres National Forrest is plus or minus 2 feet. Some parcels in this area have recorded maps in conflict and need to be researched. In the unincorporated areas of the County of Ventura, Santa Susana Knolls, Ventu Park, Greenwich Village and Chatsworth Lake the accuracy is 2 feet to 10 feet. For the areas north in the Las Padres National Forrest, the accuracy depends on the proximity to major roads and control points. Boy Scout Camp Road has a major issue that so far has been left unresolved.
These data were originally created with Computer Vision Cadds and converted to ESRI data format in 1998. Data was originally created from the centerline feature class, the individual segments were joined based on the name of the freeway and highway. The data has been updated to the newest aerial imagery every 5 years or if major changes have been noted by GIS staff.
