Accuracy is within plus or minus two feet in city areas and populated areas along the the major transportation routes in the county. In unincorporated areas such as Ventu Park, Santa Susana Knolls, and Greenwich Village the accuracy is within plus or minus two to ten feet. Data within the Los Padres National Forest and the area north of the City of San Buenaventura and northwest of the City of Santa Paula have an accuracy of plus or minus ten feet or more.</measDesc>

<measDesc>The current boundary has not been realigned to the parcel polygons. The parcels were converted into the parcel fabric in 2019 and put into production in July of 2020. The parcel fabric is maintained by the Ventura County Assessor's Office.</measDesc>

<statement>The data was compiled from records in the Ventura County Surveyor Office. Created in the ComputerVision CADDs software. In 1998, the data was converted into GIS using ESRI software and has been maintained since using various ESRI software.</statement>

<stepDesc>These data was created using Computervision CADDs software in the 1990's. A technician read through the records from the Ventura County Surveyor;s Office and drew the extents of each annexation/detachment on a basemap print. The print was then used to add the linework in the CADDs software following the parcels and centerlines where appropriate in the form a of a B-Spline feature. Upon completion of the B-Spline, a filter was run to remove the points along the lines and curves that were within 2 ft of each other. A label was created in the centroid of the linework that references the Survey Record Number. The purpose of this data was to locate the appropriate folder within the Ventura County Surveyor's Office.</stepDesc>
<stepRat>The process was to help locate the annexation/detachment documentation located within the Surveyor's Office. The documents are in the form of copies of the recorded documents and maps plus any notes made during the approval process.</stepRat>

<stepDesc>In 1998, the data was converted from CADDs to an Oracle ESRI Enterprise Geodatabase. Each Special District annexation/detachment was generated from the CADDs linework and points imported into ESRI ArcINFO though a DXF file. The polygon field for the Surveyor Number was populated from the point file generated from the DXF file. This process did not fix the misalignment with the parcels and centerline. An attempt was made to algin the exterior of the district to follow the parcels and centerlines, this did not happen to the annexation polygons.</stepDesc>
<stepRat>The process followed to bring data from CADDS into ESRI GIS format. The GIS platform allows the data to be provided through a website.</stepRat>

<stepDesc>The data was migrated to a new USER in the Oracle GIS Platform. New fields have been added for the benefit of searchable fields, hyperlinks and domains. This process did not align the polygons to the Assessor Parcels or centerlines where appropriate.</stepDesc>
<stepRat>Separate the Election data from the LAFCo data to allow the Elections to update their data. Add more functionality to the LAFCo data for reviewing the documents via hyperlinks to the scanned copies of the Surveyor’s Office documents.</stepRat>
