Service Description: This dataset contains geographic information for Community Services Districts within Ventura County, including: - Current district boundaries - Historical boundary changes and annexations - Adopted and historical spheres of influence The feature classes represent the Bell Canyon Community Services District, Channel Islands Beach Community Services District, Lake Sherwood Community Services District, and Montalvo Community Services District. The Lake Sherwood and Montalvo districts are retained as historical district records following their dissolution. The data supports Ventura County LAFCo boundary administration, municipal service reviews, sphere-of-influence studies, jurisdictional analysis, map production, and public access to special district information. A sphere of influence generally represents territory considered appropriate for the future growth or service responsibilities of a district. Boundary and sphere-of-influence data is intended for general reference and planning purposes.
