Description: This data set represents the five Supervisorial Districts. For the courses that follow geographical water course features such as rivers, creeks, washes, sloughs and barrancas, the Ventura County Watershed Protection District's Redline Channels were used. Source data: \gis_data\vc_flood_control_dist\shapefiles\channels\redline-all.shp, dated 3/11/2009. Where the Redline Channels terminate and the courses continue following water courses the Ventura County Watershed Protection District's Blueline Channels were used. Source data: \gis_data\vc_flood_control_dist\shapefiles\channels\blueline.shp, dated 9/17/2007. The Redline and Blueline channels were used for the purpose of having an identifiable geographic boundary. For the courses that follow the mean high tide line the boundary between the Pacific Ocean and Ventura County was used. Source data\gis_data\vc_public_works\engineering_mapping\shapefiles\mapping_base\venco.shp, dated 5/28/2010. The boundary between the Pacific Ocean and Ventura County was digitized from the water line of the 2001 aerial imagery to establish the coast.
